Welcome to our online details manual.

You can reach us between the hours of 10am to 6pm at (315) 317-5048 with any questions, comments and/or concerns.
If you reach our voicemail please feel free to leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Please keep in mind that we are a family based business so it may take a day or two before you hear back from us!
How do I get started with CNY Cloth Diaper Express Service?
Simply call us at 315-317-5048 or email us at cnyclothdiaperexpress@yahoo.com and this will reserve your CNYCDE spot. However, please contact us at least 4-6 weeks (i.e. 34-36 weeks gestation) prior of your baby's estimated time of arrival to secure your spot as we tend to have certain diaper service packages be more popular than others and there may be a small waiting list.
If you are welcoming a baby to your home, we will deliver a "pre-arrival drop" to your home about a week before the baby arrives. We'll demonstrate how to diaper your baby with cloth diapers and go over any questions that you might have at this time. We then wait for your call to say the baby has arrived, at which time your first dirty diaper pick-up, your regular service and billing cycle begins, making the first few days that you use CNYCDE FREE!
Initial payment covers the first four weeks of service amd a one time start up fee. Initial payment is due on or before delivery of the pre-arrival drop.
How Does CNYCDE Work? CNYCDE is weekly pickup and delivery of fresh pure diapers to your home.
Your address determines your delivery day.
Your choice of rental plan determines the items we deliver.
Diapers will arrive clean and sanitary to your doorstep in a plastic bag labled with your last name on it. You then have the option of using either the complimentary wetbag that you receive as your dirty diaper pail, or another plastic bag or you can seperately purchase a 14 gallon kitchen garbage pail to use a as a diaper pail. It is your choice.
On the following weeks delivery day please place your dirty diapers out for pick up in either the wetbag or plastic bag and you will receive a bag of clean diapers in its place!
What Do I Do With The Dirty Diapers?
If your baby has yet to start solid foods then just take the soiled diapers off baby and toss them into the dirty bag/pail.
If your baby has started solids and there is solid poop/peanut buttery like poop, shake it into the toilet when you have a poopy diaper as this will reduce odor and diaper staining. There is NO need to dunk or soak diapers in the toilet! But please do not leave soild poops in the diapers as this hampers the cleaning process and repeat offenders may have their service discontinued.
CNYCDE recommends the purchase of a Diaper Sprayer once your little one reaches this stage as it makes for simpler disposal of the poo.
Where Does CNYCDE Deliver?
CNYCDE prices include free delivery of the following towns and villages (please call for areas outside of these areas):
Syracuse, Onondaga Hill, Camillus, Fairmount, Jordan, Elbridge, Warners, Baldwinsville, Liverpool, Clay, Cicero, North Syracuse, Mattydale, Marcellus, Skaneatelas, Brewerton, East Syracuse, Fayetteville, DeWitt, Jamesville, Nedrow, Onondaga Reservation, AND ALL POINTS INBETWEEN!
If you don't see your area listed please contact us to double check!
Certain areas outside of our normal delivery area may have a delivery fee or may only be available on a seasonal basis.
Not within our delivery area? Please call to inquire about alternative delivery locations such as delivery to your car at work, grandma’s house, your daycare/babysitters, or a meet up place to exchange drops.
How Do I Activate My Weekly Delivery? Simply call our office as soon as you are ready to begin the diaper service. Wet diapers can mildew over a period of time, so it is important to call as soon as you start using them. Once we hear from you, we'll get you on the next delivery day. We expect to hear from you within two-three weeks of your pre-arrival delivery. If we haven't heard from you by then, we will follow up with a phone call or email.
What If I Am Not Home For Delivery? There's no reason to be home. We make cloth diapering easy as can be! Simply leave your diapers in the predetermined spot on your delivery day. You don't need to be home to accept the clean diapers either. We'll leave them for you. At your pre-arrival, we'll establish a place where diapers can be left regardless of the weather conditions.
Can CNYCDE Deliver To My Babysitters? CNYCDE will deliver to the location of your choice within our delivery area. One delivery location is included with your service.
Where Do I Keep My Soiled Diapers? See above "How Does CNYCDE Work?"
Also, Please avoid putting plastic bags, plastic diapers, disposable wipes, etc. in your dirty diapers as they can cause damage to our equipment. Be sure to turn in all of your soiled diapers each week. If you have any clean diapers left over you do not need to turn them in, just hang onto them and keep them in your diaper rotation.
Do I Have To Rinse The Diapers First? With an exclusively breastfed baby all you have to do is take the diaper off your baby and put it into the wetbag.
When your baby is eating solid foods and making solid poo, please shake the poo into the toilet before you put the diaper into the wetbag. This will cut down on diaper staining as well as odor, as poop belongs in the potty. Our washing process will take care of the rest. Some parents do find it best to invest $20-$30 into a diaper sprayer that attaches to your toliet and can gently "blast" off sticky poos.
What About Odors? A wetbag does a great job of keeping diaper smells in because of the nature of the material used and also because of the zipper. The only smell you should really have would be upon opening the bag you may get a “whiff” of what’s in there but other than that you should be pretty smell free. Some parents also opt to purchase a 14gallon kitchen garbage can with a lid for their dirty diaper storage.
Will I Get The Same Diapers Back? Yes - your service is personalized. You'll receive the same diapers back each week, except for diapers that are badly stained or worn out, which are replaced. We never mix and match with another baby’s diapers.
How Many Diapers Do I Need? It depends. The first few weeks call for lots and lots of diapers. Most first-time parents find it hard to believe that you really do need at least 70 diapers per week. When you reach the point where you consistently have 20 or so diapers left unused at the end of a week, then it's time to decrease your stock. Simply leave them out in a bag next to the soiled diapers, with a note or please let us know ahead of time as this may also result in a price drop for your account.
How Often Should I Change My Baby? Regardless of what kind of diaper you use, you should change your baby at least every two-four hours, or as soon as you know that you have a soiled diaper on your hands. There is a good chance that, someday, your baby will be changing you, so we personally believe in the good karma theory where our kids won’t let us sit in it then, if we didn’t let them sit in it now!
When Do I Need To Change Diaper Sizes?
Because babies come in all sizes and shapes, we offer many sizes of diapers. We'll happily help you choose the right one for your baby. Most babies use only two sizes. The infant diaper for 7-15 pounds, and then a regular or premium for 15-30+ pounds. When changing sizes, be sure to turn in all of the smaller size diapers within two weeks of the time you call to request the change, so we can be sure to get all diapers changed to the larger size.
What If I Miss A Pick-Up?
No need to worry! We may make a judgment call to go ahead and leave your next load of diapers there for you with a “Sorry We Missed You” card, that will tell you that we were there and your dipes weren’t. You then need to bringing your dirty dipes to our Syracuse drop-off point, or hanging onto them and just adding them to the following week’s pick-up/delivery. However, if you choose to hang onto them until the following week’s pick-up and happen to run short, or if we have both of your “drops” that are dirty and you have no clean dipes, then that is no fault of CNYCDE and a week will not be refunded.
How And When Do I Pay?
Like most rental services, CNYCDE requires payment in advance. To begin service, we require 4 weeks payment and a new account start up. After that, we bill monthly with invoices going out about a week before your payment is due for the following month. We accept payment in cash, check, credit card (MC/V) or PayPal. Paid service is non-refundable. Payments should be secured to the *outside* of the soiled diaper bag. If you're gifting someone with diaper service, we will bill you directly.
How Much Is CNYDE? Our service price varies based on the pacakge that you select. Our most popular package is $20 per week for one child, and includes up to 84 (7 dozen) diapers. We start you off with 84 diapers per week and adjust from there as needed. For additional children, we offer a significant discount; please call us for details.
Can I Wash The Diapers? Please, don't ever do this... for several reasons. While washing diapers at home isn't exactly rocket science, washing diapers so that they are suitable for use by customers is another story entirely. Every diaper must be perfectly spotless and pristine. In addition, our process uses carefully controlled formulas for minimum ecological impact, strict bacteria control, and maximum fabric life.
If we have strong reason to suspect that a customer is washing their own diapers (for example, they have disproportionately large numbers of clean diapers every week for several weeks) we reserve the right to discontinue that customer's service. In addition, the customer will be billed for diapers and/or bags that are returned to us with damage. We take our quality control very seriously. Just don't do it! If you need more diapers to get you through the week, let us know and we'll be happy to adjust your number.
How Does CNYCDE Wash The Diapers? Our diapers are professionally laundered in a commercial facility, by caring staff who are specially trained and experienced in processing this type of linen. After laundering, we personally inspect every single diaper for stains, tears, and overall wear.
Will You Wash My Covers Too? Because of the waterproofing material in the covers, they cannot be exposed to the same high temperatures at which the diapers are laundered. Therefore, logistics prevent us from washing customers' covers. Also, companies develop their own preferences for different types of covers. Caring for all the different types of covers our customers might use would not be cost-effective for us or the customer. You usually can throw your covers right in with your baby's other laundry (you might have to rinse them out first if they are heavily soiled). Make sure you follow all manufacturer's instructions for whatever brand(s) of covers you use!
What Is A Snappi® Fastener? How Do I Use It?Please refer to the official Snappi® websitefor complete illustrated instructions.
What If I Start Service and Decide I Don't Like It? We're not gonna kid you — like anything else that is new and unfamiliar, cloth diapering does take practice. Some people love it immediately and pick it up with no problem; others take a week or two to get used to it. We advise that you stick with it for at least the initial four weeks to really get the feel of things. If you feel overwhelmed (not unusual for new parents!) you can always continue to use disposables now and then during your learning phase. If, after your initial four-week period is up, you still feel that you just can't get it, you may cancel service. Your free cover 2 Diaper Snappi® and wetbag are still yours to keep.
